Exercising Your Pets

Society & Culture

Today is Walk to Work Day, so on Pets-A-Loud today, we whack on our sweatbands and get active!

There are a number of physical and emotional benefits of regularly and consistently exercising your pets from increasing their sense of wellbeing, decreasing boredom and keeping tabs on their weight. Dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and breeds benefit from exercising.

On the program today, we discuss ways you can help your pooch and feline friends stay in tip top shape.

Coming up on Pets-A-Loud today,

  • Dr Alan Bolton from the Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic will be taking us through the physical and behaviour benefits of exercising,
  • We’ll be hearing about the Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic Slimmer’s Club guide to exercising your pet,
  • Tracey, the proud owner of two very active and boisterous dogs will share her conventional and not so conventional ways in staying fit with her pets,
  • We’ll shed some light onto how to successfully walk your dog on a lead,
  • We’ll take a look at a very serious virus concerning dogs, parvovirus,
  • And, as usual at the tail end of the program, we’ll have Dog Dates.
