The Lost Dogs’ Home News Wrap Special

Animals, Community, Pets, Society & Culture

It was a very busy end to 2013 and start to 2014 for The Lost Dogs Home.

In recent days our shelters have been inundated with worried owners looking for their lost dogs following New Year’s Eve fireworks. There have been many joyful and tearful reunions, while the Home encourages those to still looking to not give up and consult the Home of any advice and support they need.

On Pets-A-Loud this week, we wrap up the news and events of the last month and week at the Home.

On the program:

  • Kate has been spending lots of time at our North Melbourne Shelter reception helping reunite and provide information to worried pet owners following the New Year’s Eve. She provides an insight into what the New Year has been like for lost pets, pet owners and staff at the Home.
  • Our very own Dr Alan Bolton from The Lost Dogs’ Home Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic told how Clinic and hospital staff have been treating terrified and exhausted dogs following the fireworks.
  • Love to be a fur mum or dad but don’t have enough time or space to make it a full-time gig? The Lost Dogs’ Home is currently calling out for foster carers. Kev and Kate take you through how you can become a foster parent for the Home.
  • And, at the tail end of the program we have Dog Dates.
