Is it humane for the Rudd Government to send LGBTI asylum seekers to Papua New Guinea, knowing that homosexuality is illegal in that country? That question was posed to Bill Shorten this morning by Independent NSW MP Alex Greenwich. Alex joined hosts Macca and Fairfax business editor Mark Hawthorne on today’s edition of Saturday Magazine. After discussing the topic of LGBTI asylum seekers with Alex, Mark and Macca, Bill Shorten offered a pledge to raise the issue with his federal Labor colleagues.
