From Gay to Gai

Podcast, Society & Culture

Bronwyn Pike is back in the cohost chair with Macca and we have a program chock filled with great content.

First up we meet evangelical pastor John Pavlovitz from the United States who has caused some ruckus among his peers after penning a beautiful blog to his children about how he would react if they are gay – a great departure from what we have come to expect from fundamentalist Christians.

We meet Sam Hibbins, Greens candidate for Prahran who talks about gay dating app Grindr going Green – how the Greens are using Grindr to get their political message out to the gay male community. Founder and Editor of digital magazine, The Carousel Robyn Foyster joins us to debate the future of print vs digital in an e,tightening discussion and Sally Goldner puts Transgender Victoria in to the Community Spotlight.

Mary Dalmau has chosen some great books to review this week, including a bio about former Victorian Premier, Dick Hamer, and a lovely coffee table book about Retro Melbourne. Rosly Oades comes in to tell us about her show in the the Melbourne Festival, titles Hello, Goodby and Happy Birthday and Judith Gorst is in to chat about In The Loop workshops for friends and family of those who have been diagnosed with HIV.

Finally, our Exec Producer, Pete Dillon caught up with ABC News Breakfast sports presenter, Paul Kennedy to have a flick though his book documenting the dynasty of the Waterhouse racing family. Giddy Up.
