Understanding LGBTI+ Lives in Crisis

Dr Andrea Waling @SexySociology, Research fellow, Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at LaTrobe University discusses the recent study (“Understanding LGBTI+ Lives in Crisis“) which discovered that 71 per cent of LGBTI+ Australians didn’t reach out to support services during their last mental health crisis. Our community receives funding of about 3% although we represent 11% of population. It’s not just about resources it’s about equity. We need parity in funding, not a few crumbs that have fallen from the tables.
