Understanding Victoria’s new transgender law

Associate Professor Noah Riseman @NoahRiseman teaches history at the Australian Catholic University. He is the leader of the ARC-funded research project ‘Transgender Australians: The History of an Identity’. Noah helps us understanding Victoria’s new transgender law. The new law will enable transgender and non-binary Victorians to choose the gender listed on their birth certificates. The law means surgery will no longer be required to change genders.
