One of our favourite authors, Michael Veitch discusses his new book, AUSTRALIA‘S SECRET ARMY – The story of the Coast Watchers, the unsung heroes of Australia’s armed forces during World War II.
Published by Hachette Australia, 31 August 2022, RRP $32.99
From acclaimed author Michael Veitch comes this compelling and vivid account of a little-known chapter of Australian wartime history. Australia’s Secret Army documents a group of civilians who worked with the Australian Defence Force during WWII as ‘Coast Watchers’, observing Japanese movements along the coastlines and in the jungles of the South Pacific.
Michael Veitch is well known as an author, actor and former radio and television presenter. His passion for history and aviation has led to a number of bestselling books on the topic, including 44 Days, Heroes of the Skies, Fly, Flak, Barney Greatrex, Turning Point and The Battle of the Bismarck Sea. Australia‘s Secret Army is Michael‘s eleventh book. He lives in the Yarra Valley, outside Melbourne.
Michael is a RAAF Reserve Officer, and proud to have been recently appointed as Squadron Leader
