Episode # 163 The Rob Bish Show

TV & Film

0x0_8246255

We have a dedication to a very special honourary Squeamer: Rob Bishop who spent some of his time over the years either guesting on the show to talk European horror and Science Fiction ( yay more science !!!)

or doing supportive research in ideas and where science met fiction et al..

This is a special show, and quite hilarious as it turned out..technically.. if things could have gone wrong..well indeed they did!! but we dedicate this episode to our friend of JOY 94.9 and Sci-fi & Squeam Rob Bishop, The Bish who passed away suddenly on April 22nd , so this show is dedicated to him and his WONDERFUL mind :

“Science is much more than a body of knowledge. It is a way of thinking. This is central to its success. Science invites us to let the facts in, even when they don’t conform to our preconceptions. It counsels us to carry alternative hypotheses in our heads and see which ones best match the facts. It urges on us a fine balance between no-holds-barred openness to new ideas, however heretical, and the most rigorous skeptical scrutiny of everything — new ideas and established wisdom. We need wide appreciation of this kind of thinking. It works. It’s an essential tool for a democracy in an age of change. Our task is not just to train more scientists but also to deepen public understanding of science.” Carl Sagan.

We also had those interviews with Adam Baldwin he of Firefly and Full Metal Jacket fame, apart from other equally sci fi squeamish things ! Thanks to Dr Emma Beddows and Supanova Melbourne 2013 for the interview…

and Bailey gives us the letter ‘F’ for Friday the 13th for all those Horror Virgins!!

We Love you Bish, and we miss you so very, very much…..

song for you my beloved friend:
