Such an enthralling The I in Us on this Valentines Day episode. Paul and Little Jase chat with special Guests Channy and Dougie Mc Gowan on the topic of intersex. An honestly intriguing program when the discussion covers not only the human world, but also touches on the animal kingdom.

Intersex is when individuals are born with a range of variations in sex characteristics. The term intersex is used as an umbrella term covering about forty different sex variations; every one of them having a medical terminology. Understandably, the term intersex would be much less dehumanizing than some of the medical labels. Being able to use the term intersex to identify oneself is like a kind of softening term; less confronting than using some of the medical terminologies. “The medical profession could do better to stop pathologizing intersex people and accepting them as a variation in biology”.(Channy on The I in Us, 14th February 2024)
