LGBTIQ Folk and Rehab

Accessing rehabilitation services for LGBTIQ folk can be a bit of a minefield.

Friends, family and lovers of people with substance use issues also wonder how they can best support their loved ones within this space. Claire and Renee discuss the different types of rehab as well as the steps to take in order to access such services for LGBTIQ people. Thorne Harbour Health’s very own volunteer Craig who has lived experience of accessing rehab comes on the show to share his own experience.

If you are concerned about your substance use, please contact direct line on 1800 888 236 and they will assist in referring you to the program that best fits your needs.

This show, Episode #664 originally aired Thursday 4th April 2019.
