John Manwarring – Reinventing the Man

At 29yo John Manwarring belies his challenged life. Born in the USA and raised in a Mormon family, his childhood struggles with his homosexuality were always at odds with his faith, At 22yo, rebellious and living on the wilder side of life, he contracted HIV. All of that is a long way from Melbourne where he now studies Law and is a spokesperson with Living Positive Victoria’s Positive Speakers Bureau. John’s gentle persona contrasts his imposing stature and striking looks. This is a story of how one man chose not be beaten by HIV, but to share his story with others so that they may learn, take control and be empowered to greater heights.
