Taiwan: Hotline volunteers educate teachers

“In Asian culture, coming out to parents is the biggest issue,” said Jennifer (Hsin Chieh) from Taiwan’s LGBT Hotline (Tongzhi). Tongzhi supports parents and helps teachers learn the mandatory gender education curriculum.  Taiwan is a progressive nation, student textbooks describe LGBT issues. Jennifer discusses gay marriage, the generation divide, educational progress and fear of regressing under a Chinese regime.
