1967 was an eventful year. We lost a Prime Minister at Portsea; Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was released; Elvis married Priscilla and Rob came to Melbourne to live. Popular songs were Itchycoo Park (Small Faces), Creeque Alley (Mamas & Papas) and the great Aretha with ‘Respect’. The Aussie highlight is Australia’s no 1 pop singer at the time, Melbourne’s Normie Rowe with his big hit ‘It’s Not Easy’.
