Allegro Non Troppo – Married or not?

Whether we want it or not it looks like the western world is moving towards the acceptance of gay relationships as equal to marriage.
There has been careful use of language to not use the term ‘marriage’. Civil unions, registered relationships are starting to pop up around the world as viable options.
In the USA the notorious proposition 8 has indicated that the USA is not ready to recognise same sex unions, according to the outcome of the plebiscite conducted with the US elections
On Allegro today we are going to look at what actually is a marriage and do we want it. Marriage of some form exists in most cultures, in western society Christianity has created marriage as a sanctity that exists between a man and a woman only and that’s where the problem for gay unions lies.
Do we want to be married, we’ve never had the option, so why would we?
