Gay Scotland is actually located in Melbourne and other Australian Cities!
When we think of new and emerging communities in the Australian context, we think of African and middle eastern people relocating their lives here.
There is another wave of immigration that is taking place, that is not readily visible, but is non the less very apparent to those in the know. There are a lot of Scottish homosexuals here!
Why? What’s going on? With the British Cultural Revolution towards homosexuals so much ahead of Australia, why are we seeing all these Scots people coming down under?
There is a bit of a problem with homophobic bullying in Scottish schools, but it doesn’t seem any worse than anywhere else, so that’s not the reason, They might have come to Australia for the weather and beach, but that’s not the cause in Melbourne where there is a huge contingent of Scots ex-pats, seems like every second person on the gay scene here has a Glaswegian accent.
