586 And we’re back …

Prepare yourselves … Dick is back with a truly gay gay gay selection of all GLBTI content/artists. So welcome to another hour of A Touch Of Pink, your show for tracks with a pop trash / remix flava and an emphasis on GLBTI content/artists.

I’m loving the new Kele Okereke CD Fatherland, the new one for the gay Bloc Party band singer, plus a couple of Sylvester covers, Stars and Mighty Real (another two coming up next week), there is a Giorgio Moroder remix of DAF’s 80’s industrial hit Der Mussolini, Sam Smith gets Jacked and the ex Big Fun singer Paul Varney gets remixed.

My Song Of The Week is ‘Don’t Tell Me’ by gay UK artist/producer Ross Alexander.

I’m choosing this because I love his high energy style, but also because this is the latest in a continuing series of covers of song by iconic 80’s artists. In this case he has taken a classic from the catalogue of UK band Blancmange. There has been a resurgence of interest in this band of late, re-issues of their back catalogue etc, well worth searching out if you like this track.

Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from  6-7pm for a whole heap (as many as we can get through) of fun tracks. Your host will be Dick.

What have we seen this week ?

Film : Goodbye Christopher Robyn :  This is a lovely film about author A A Milne and the Winnie The Pooh books, written for his son. The film shows how he came back from fighting in WW1 a damaged man, but wanting to put some happiness in the children’s lives after the war. It’s a mixture of light and fluffy and dark and intense, but overall a good afternoon’s viewing. Plus lots of gorgeous British scenery. Another great Nana film.

Dick’s Top 5 Videos For This Week

Kele Okereke : Streets Been Talkin’ (sweet video with dog)

Italove : Stockholm is calling (the 80’s called, they want their costumes back)

Steve Grand : Walking (gorgeous, adorable etc etc etc)

Ricky Rebel : If you were my baby (more 80’s glam gender bending)

Vizin : You make me feel (mighty real) (LA drag artiste)

That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
