Chris is back from holidays and looking nicely tanned. A big thank you to David! Everyone was at the huge Joy Annual General Meeting yesterday (25th October). Congratulations to all award winners, especially Joy photographer Betty Sujecki who won the Anne Hamilton award for Volunteer Excellence. The boys talk about her using photography puns so, with Phil’s help, I’m adding– ‘Someday your prints (ess) will come so don’t get too snappy and see what develops’.

This week’s show also includes, chats about our only home – our planet Earth – and the way mankind is creating ecological disasters like draining the Aral Sea, wasting valuable water on the Cubbie cotton farm, turning back the Snowy River and China’s Three Gorges Dam. We celebrate the birthday of Ang Lee, and his work sensitively representing 2 torn gay men in the film Brokeback Mountain, birthdays too for Craig Russell female impersonator and David Furnish (married to Elton John). We talk about the 30th anniversary of the return of Uluru to the indigenous custodians; Marble Bar’s (WA) 160 continuous days of heat over 100 degrees F (37.8 C) in the 1920s and the panic from a radio play in 1938! Plus some trivia and mirth…
