This week’s show starts with a royal theme as we connect some events with anniversaries at this time – The naming of Melbourne, the reign of Queen Victoria, display of dresses Diana wore, Diana’s legacy, and Prince William being featured on the cover of a gay magazine, highlighting his philanthropy.

We talk about Refugee Week, especially those gay people who have to flee persecution. Recent events in Istanbul with suppression of gay and trans marches, the political stance of Turkey as an EU member, hate speech and violence, our own plebiscite, and respect.

We remind ourselves about Men’s Health Week.

We are reminded of birthdays of Cyndi Lauper, Jimmy Somerville, George Michael and play their music, and finish with Conchita Wurst singing ‘Rise like a Phoenix”.
