In her current position as Minister for Women and Minister for the Prevention of Violence and having had the benefit of strong female role models through her lifetime, Fiona is pursuing her passion of empowering and improving the lives of women across Victoria. In the short time as Minister Fiona is immensely proud of her role in delivering on Labor’s commitment to establish Australia’s first Royal Commission into Family Violence, knowing that it is an opportunity to change the lives of women and children and establish a culture of non-violence and gender equality.

Born 22 November 1966 in Tanzania, Fiona is married with two children. Fiona is a passionate Netball supporter and worked hard with her local Labor Member Colleague in securing the commitment for 64 additional Netball courts in Melbourne’s inner North.   Her team of choice is the Melbourne Vixens.
