Interview with Luisa Hastings Edge from The Super Queer Murderess Show which is on at Melbourne Fringe

David and special co-host Simon Abrahams (CEO & Creative Director of the Melbourne Fringe Festival) interview Luisa Hastings Edge from The Super Queer Murderess Show – A marginalia of fatal femmes.

The Super Queer Murderess Show is on at the Fringe Hub: Arts House – Warehouse from 23rd to 30th September. It’s described as:

“Step into a gothic fantasy cabaret of curiosities. Cross the final frontier with these notorious femmes in a historical mash up of victim and perpetrator. Bear witness to a gothic ritual resurrecting these outlaw women. Luisa Hastings Edge (Joan, Wizard of Oz, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant) lures lost spirits to conjure their secrets into song. From the bandit to the warrior she transforms, through the wronged woman turned avenger, assassin, and daredevil gunslinger. In an uncanny act of re-incarnation she channels them all – the matricide, the militant, the marauder and the maids. Committing the unthinkable and unmentionable; queer acts anathema to all right-thinking folks! How dare we celebrate these unwomanly women? A tantalising night of vampe, transgressing of taboos and cross-dressing babes – This gothic cabaret exhumes the deeply queer reasons for these fatal acts, celebrating their defiant outsider resistance. Be seduced by this punk noir mixed tape through the forgotten graveyards of herstory. Let this chanteuse take you softly by the hand and lead you deep into the dark places to uncover monstrous buried secrets of defiance, escape and survival.”
