Welcome to Game On! JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Tuesday from 7-8pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about you and how you can get your game on by showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

Bec Ahern who heads up the This Girl Can initiative at VicHealth shares the amazing opportunities for women during This Girl Can Week (9-15 October). It’s a week to celebrate women smashing stereotypes to be active however, wherever and whenever they choose without being judged. Check out the website and see whether you might like to have a go at Zumba, Bollywood dancing, Ballet or Roller-derby to name but a few of the oodles of fun activities across the state. Take a look at the stories of the This Girl Can Ambassadors who inspire us with how they overcame their doubts and insecurities and are now loving living an active life! (Starts 2:27)

Fran Hurndall Guinness world record holder, former football player of the round ball, and Founder and CEO of The Female Football Project joins Game On! to tell us all about her inspiration to dribble a soccer ball 1000kms from the Gold Coast to Sydney. What an incredible achievement for an awesome cause – to encourage women and girls to dare to dream and forge a career in football and enabling a pathway for female coaches. Congratulations Fran on raising over $15,000 for Women Sport Australia and for being nominated for a 2023 FIFA Fan Award. (Starts 11:19)
