Richard Goodbody, Executive General Manager Customer and Corporate Affairs, Racing Queensland joins us to tell us about the fantastic Racing with Pride series which has just launched focusing on sharing the stories of members of the LGBTIQA+ community and their experiences working in the racing industry. The racing industry in Queensland is diverse and inclusive and aims to embrace a more inclusive, safe, and healthy sporting environment for people with diverse sexualities and genders. We are joined in the JOY Studio by Nic Norris and Beck Barnes of the Melbourne Frontrunners, Melbourne’s inclusive running and walking club for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Nic and Beck have completed their goal on running a marathon in each state and territory across Australia in 2023! And they did it together, every step of the way, hand in hand as they crossed the finish line! Relationship goals! All the best in New York for the grand finale – the New York Marathon. Jeff McLean, Co-founder of Pride Tape, joins us from Canada to talk to us about the recent controversy with the National Ice-Hockey League (NHL) and how this has impacted players using the Rainbow coloured tape on their ice-hockey sticks across the National Hockey League The NHL has made the extraordinary decision to ban players from all 32 teams from showing support for themed nights which includes using Pride-themed tape on their hockey sticks this season saying it’s a distraction from the game. Jeff joins us to share the positive response from the professional ice-hockey community and how you can support the reinstatement of the tape.

Sign the petition now on Change. Org and send a message to Gary Bettman Commissioner of the NHL for the reinstatement of the use of Pride Tape in Sport. There are over 6,000 signatures and counting! (Starts 32:00)
