Melbourne International Youth Film Festival

Jacq and Producer Annie chat to Head Programmer of the Melbourne International Youth Film Festival, Andrew Goode on Tuesday Drive.

The brand new film festival presents works from young people of today and is happening Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June.

Jacq and Annie talk to Andrew about what it’s like to watch more than 800 films before selecting the 25 finalists for the festival.

The festival is facilitated by Cerise Howard, co-founder of the Czech and Slovak Film Festival and Melbourne’s Trans and Gender-Diverse Film Festival. opportunities solely to young filmmakers.

One of the films, Scene From the Men’s Toilets at a Ceilidh’ by Louis Norris is an LGBTI tale focusing on a couple having an argument, paused at regular intervals by urinating family friends.
