Mentoring LGBTIQ+ people to be able to step into the workplace with pride

Today on JOY Breakfast, Rach & Dean have been talking about yesterday’s announcement by the Victorian Government, of a $340,000 funding package to help LGBTIQA+ people access job-readiness programs, including Project Purple by Fitted for Work assisting 100 transgender, non-binary and gender diverse Victorians to access employment opportunities.

PLUS, funding for the Victorian Pride Centre, to help LGBTIQ+ jobseekers connect with Jobs Victoria Partners and other employment service providers.

It’s pretty exciting, and they were joined by a voice that should be very familiar to JOY listeners, Mama Mish, Michelle Shepherd, as well as her mentee Eli Appleton, as they explore further what this funding will mean for the community and the importance of mentoring within our communities.
