Conrad Browne is the co-host of Joy’s Out Takes. Conrad reviews the documentary “Steelers: The World’s First Gay Rugby Club”. The film follows the Kings Cross Steelers, a UK rugby club, and we meet three members of the club: Nic the female coach fighting for recognition, Steve the semi-pro player overcoming depression, and the prop who discovered he was a drag queen. The film is narrated by the director and journalist, Australian, Eammon Ashton-Atkinson who has his own journey to happiness through rugby and the Steelers. Conrad talks about why this film resonates for him and reflects on why it’s one of his favourite sports films.
