New music to weekdays (28 November 2018)

New music additions

Sam Bluer Bite My Tongue (EMI)
Cali Satellites ft Go Comet! The Sound of You (KAOS)
Max Frost Good Morning (ATL / WMA)
Mashd N Kutcher, False Rumours & Alex Holmes I’m Yours (CAS / UMA)

To wrap up Australian Music Month and a week of ARIA magic we have added a few new local bops to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.

Melbourne boy Sam Bluer attracted some welcome attention with the release of his last song, ‘Body High’. This queer singer-songwriter continues to craft songs full of synth-pop goodness, just like his latest. ‘Bite My Tongue’ has been described as his best song yet, and we will certainly agree with that assessment. Sam is on an upward trajectory and should keep people talking in 2019.

Back in the day, Dinesh Wicks and Adam Gock found great acclaim thanks to the music they wrote for the screen. The duo won six ASCAP and 12 APRA awards, but decided that the screen just wasn’t enough. Cali Satellites now collaborate with a heap of artists and these Aussies have turned their LA pad into a musical haven. Working with Go Comet! and The Potbelleez’s Ilan Kidron, they have produced ‘The Sound of You’. Its rock sense brings something different to daytime but we think you’ll appreciate the sound.

Back in February, American singer-songwriter Max Frost unveiled a soulful, boppy delight about new starts. ‘Good Morning’ didn’t make much of a dent in Australia until it made an appearance on our TV screens. Now the theme of a re-branded Channel 10, you’re bound to hear this one a lot. Thank goodness it’s so memorable – it’s sure to become a karaoke staple a year from now.

Queensland duo Mashd N Kutcher have been busy touring the world and introducing their audiences to radio favourite, Frank Walker. They’ve teamed up with fellow Queenslander False Rumours and British singer Alex Holmes for some up-tempo dance pop in ‘I’m Yours’. It’s great to see Matt and Adam delivering an original after a few covers, and we hope that this continues.
