New music to weekdays (6 December 2017)
Oliver Heldens ft Danny Shah What the Funk (DIM MAK)
DYLAN Freedom (Ed Colman & Nick Van Wilder Radio Edit) (BOOSHU)
Sam Smith One Last Song (EMI)
Jordie Ireland Take Cover (UMA)
bülow Not a Love Song (UMA)

December is supposed to be the quiet month for music releases. Someone’s obviously got their calendar out of order.

December is also the month for Christmas parties, and Oliver Heldens has released the perfect party jam for you. The Dutch DJ has buddied up with Scottish singer-songwriter Danny Shah in ‘What the Funk’, and it will get you dancing just like MJ. Just don’t overdo the festivities!

Continuing the dancing theme is something from Wollongong native DYLAN. You might have heard of him as Lord Phoenix a few years ago, but this out-and-proud singer has grown up and produced a banger with ‘Freedom’. Ed Colman and Nick Van Wilder are on remixing duties to give it one almighty punch.

You’ll need something a little more soothing the day after, and Sam Smith has just the cure. ‘One Last Song’ is the second single from The Thrill of It All, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA album chart. It’s one that we think you’ll sway along to.

Jordie Ireland is a talented 19-year-old DJ and producer from Maroubra who can play six instruments. Jordie has used this talent in his debut single, ‘Take Cover’, which features the vocals of co-writer Sophie Curtis and has had over one million streams in just a couple of weeks. This lad is on the way to being one of Australia’s next big things.

Rounding out this week’s new music comes the lead single from bülow‘s debut EP. Canadian-Dutch singer Megan Bülow might only be 17, but ‘Not a Love Song’ sounds like something from a singer with many more years under their belt. The track got to #1 on Hype Machine and has been streamed nearly two million times since its release. We think you’ll have it stuck in your head after a few listens.
