LISTEN TO PODCAST NOW

In his first interview since being appointed Executive Director of PLWHA (Vic) Brent Allan joins us On The Line to talk about his career within the HIV Health Sector. Victoria’s recently release HIV surveillance figures for 2011 show a sharp rise in new HIV infections. Brent speaks frankly about the challenges this presents for the individuals involved, emphasises the importance of PLWHA’s roll as an organisation and the opportunities that lay ahead in the lead-up to the AIDS 2014 conference to be held in Melbourne. “When Girls Help Girls” is an art project currently seeking submissions for an exhibition that will raise much needed funds to support women and their communities around the globe. Melbourne artist Steph Hall is behind this fantastic project and she joins us to discuss it further. Earlier in the week Dean attended Deakin University’s SHAG Week and today he shares the interviews he did with Josh from the Pride Club, comedian Adam Francis and Dan, the welfare officer on campus.
