The Squeamer is on the phone line talking to director and writer of a new genre movie A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night LILY AMIRPOUR , and now the film is released for the first time in Oz at ACMI, Melbourne, for a short run.

Described as being ‘The first Iranian Vampire Western ever made, Ana Lily Amirpour’s debut basks in the sheer pleasure of pulp. A joyful mash-up of genre, archetype, and iconography, its prolific influences span spaghetti westerns, graphic novels, horror films, and the Iranian New Wave. ‘

It’s a romantic fantasy film about loneliness and how misunderstood it is and vampires are the loneliest of all, and how one vampire brings about change in a community of fringe dwellers in a place called Bad City, a place where good and bad things happen involving skateboarding female vampire, a rocking soundtrack and with a cat all filmed in black and white!

And now there is a comic AND a skateboard! It was great talking to Lily and we wish her all the best for her awesome vampire movie! ..And what a SOUNDTRACK!!
