Next the duo explore their killer sides with the film I Am Not A Serial Killer (promise). Based on the book by Dan Wells, Billy O’Brien takes us into the world of John Wayne Cleaver, a young sociopath whose rules of life ensure he does not kill anyone. Confronted by a serial killer while working in a funeral home, he sets out to find this murderer.

Our undead reviewers sink their teeth into The Devil’s Candy, created by Loved Ones director Sean Byrne, this film explores the life of the metal loving Hellman family as they move into an amazing new farm property. This starts to fall apart when one of the house’s former occupants wants back in.

beliefTo round out the list of reviews, Sonja and Claytox shift gear to a more series and heavy topic with director David Stubb’s Belief: The Possession of Janet Moses. A docudrama based on true events in 2007, where a Moari family, believing she was possessed, drowned Janet Moses while she is held down in bed. Respectfully handled, this film is a definite highlight of MIFF and well worth checking out.

More SciFi&Squeam Undead to come.
