This week on Sidelined, Soupy, Demetra and Jacs are recognising Pansexual Visibility Day which celebrates the visibility of pansexual individuals and the progress made in terms of acceptance and understanding. We support all pansexual athletes, coaches, administrators and fans who make sport welcoming, safe, inclusive and fun by being their authentic selves.

In the Sidelined Sporting Highlight this week we have the very great pleasure of speaking with Carson White – President Daylesford Football Netball Club to tell us all about how the Daylesford Football Netball Club has embraced the Rainbow community and the staging of the third annual Pride Cup this weekend. In A Chat With Jacs, we’re talking footy with Felicity Gaylard, Committee member Carlton Pride joining us in the JOY Studio to share the great work underway to make the LGBTIQA+ Carlton fan experience a wonderful one and the support by the club. (11:00)

In Demetra’s Drama, Demetra talks with Ivan O’Mahoney, Producer of the intriguing ABC documentary Folau – Folau is the story of one of Australia’s most gifted and controversial athletes, and how a social media post landed him at the heart of our culture wars, derailing careers in the process. The two- part series provides an insight into Israel Folau’s environment, the pressures and resulting decisions and is a must watch! (27:45)

Darren ‘Morro” Morrin, Head Global Communications and Media Relations, International Gay Rugby (IGR) Association joins us to talk us through the statement released by the IGR regarding concerns over Israel Folau’s selection in the Killik Cup and calls for a review of the Rugby Football Union’s gender policy. #rugbyforall (38:49)
