An event for Lesbian/Bi+, Trans and Non-Binary people over the age of 50, presented by Switchboard Victoria’s Out & About program and Thorne Harbour Health in October 2021.
This online event brought together three in-person events that were unable to take place due to COVID-19, with participants joining from the South-West Coast, Gippsland, and Metro regions. The proceedings included welcomes by local leaders, an introduction to the new Commissioner for LGBTIQ+ Communities Todd Fernando, a panel discussion on ageing featuring a surprise poem by Joan Nestle, a short film, and some breakout rooms. A key driver for the events was to connect people with local services that are working to increase their inclusivity of, and safe service provision to Seniors within our communities.
