‘Always remember that you are not alone’ – dealing with transphobia every day

When 60 minutes announced they were doing an interview with transgender footballer Hannah Mouncey, many people took to social media constantly highlighting Hannah’s appearance as a ‘bloke’ or using the wrong pronoun in reference to her as ways to cut down the validity of her story and journey via social media.

It’s one of those moments where we urge people not to read the comments on threads, because the way people choose to try and devalue the existence of trans people is just awful.

In this segment of the Informers, our own Lara Dickenson (who is a trans non-binary individual) has swapped the mic for the interviewing chair to share with our listerns about their own journey; and the effect that this kind of transphobia has every single day of trans peoples lives.
