Rainbow Wreaths raise the visibility of all service men & women

April 25th is Anzac Day, a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served.

In Services around the country people come and pay their respects for dawn services, and in the past few years, ANZAC events have become increasingly inclusive of minority groups.

Rainbow Wreaths are now lain in dawn services around the country to represent the diversity of those who have fallen, and Darcy Meehan spoke to Stuart Martin, the Victorian Coordinator for DEFGLIS, the Australian Defence LGBTI Information Service, about the rainbow wreaths importance.

This segment of The Informer aired on JOY 94.9 on 24th April 2018.
