Food plays a vital role in fighting fires.

The Kitchen Table crew are joined by Country Fire Association captain Gary McQuade, Second Bite’s Katy Barfield and Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma Asia Pacific managing director Cait McMahon as they discus the impact of food in fires and trauma zones.

Gary talks about what its like on the ground and how and what food firefighters are eating, Katy talks about what it was like being in the first convoy to arrive in Kinglake after the Black Staurday fires and the role food plays in communities ravaged by fire, and Cait talks about how journalists reporting at the traumatic scenes behave towards food.

There’s also a bunch of cheese jokes thrown in for good measure.
