The one about finding work and the power of local government

Anastasia is joined this week by Violetta, our former colleague, who is back in the chair while Mish is on leave. We hear an update from Violetta, including about the benefits of finding work and being able to give back.

Mayor Susan Rennie from the Council of Darebin then joins Anastasia to talk about the all ages, family-friendly Trans and Gender Diverse Community Night that Darebin Council is running at the Reservoir Leisure Centre.  And we hear about all the other wonderful things that Darebin Council does to support their local residents. The Darebin Council team would love to hear from you. Anastasia feels inspired to get in touch with her local council to share some of Darebin’s ideas.

*** We know that sometimes it can be hard to know who to talk to if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you do not have family and friends living nearby or a strong local support network it can be hard to get through difficult times on your own. Whether you are in a crisis or you just feel down and need to talk to someone, it is important to know that help is available at all hours of the day and night.

There are many free mental health hotlines and mental health online support services across Victoria, which provide crisis support, information, resources, counseling, and therapy to people of all ages.
