The one where we look for uplifting news stories

We go on the hunt for uplifting stories in the news and media. We find:

Two dads in Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

A young trans man has a great experience with his dad and a haircut.

Chanel casts an openly transgender model as the face of a beauty campaign.

Rebekah Robertson’s book ‘About a Girl’ has been released.

Rebekah’s daughter Georgie Stone had a storyline in Neighbours.

Men everywhere have received a master class on how to talk about their attraction to transgender women.

And it’s Melbourne Fashion Week, welcoming in a season of androgynous looks and shoulder pads. Anastasia recommends bodysuits and bootcuts.

This episode was originally broadcast on 5 September 2019.

*** We know that sometimes it can be hard to know who to talk to if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you do not have family and friends living nearby or a strong local support network it can be hard to get through difficult times on your own. Whether you are in a crisis or you just feel down and need to talk to someone, it is important to know that help is available at all hours of the day and night.

There are many free mental health hotlines and mental health online support services across Victoria, which provide crisis support, information, resources, counseling, and therapy to people of all ages.
