Soul music legend, Tina Turner aka The Acid Queen, puts the word longevity to shame. With a career ranging from the 60s right through to the present day (she is currently working alongside the team on the Broadway adaptation of her biopic ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’). In 1979 she joined the ranks of the disco divas and released an epic disco single called Love Explosion. The song was produced by French disco connoisseur Alec R. Costadinos, who had already given us Thank God It’s Friday and was a helping hand in writing Cerrone’s Love In C Minor. Love Explosion was taken from the LP with the same name.

I had to check myself when I realised this song was 35!! years old. Originally released in 1983, Rufus & Chaka Khan certainly delivered the most timeless funk jam in Ain’t Nobody. A song that fills a dancefloor anywhere in the world within the first five seconds of the songs unmistakable intro. The song also featured in a prominent dance scene and on the soundtrack to 80s flick, Breakdance (aka Breakin’).
