Clothes maketh the man, but do clothes maketh the gay man? With an international expert on gay fashion in town, we decided to take a guided stroll down the catwalk of gay fashion to critique what’s hot and what’s not on gays past and present.

• Does culture impact fashion – or is it fashion that influences culture?
• Have we lost our outrageous campness in a sea of modern day conservatism?
• And while Melbourne may see itself pretty highly in the fashion stakes, we will ask that mirror mirror on the wall – who are the best-dressed gays of them all?

To help the fashion challenged amongst us, we have the glamorous pleasure of welcoming Dr Shaun Cole – a writer, lecturer, curator and currently Programme Director for Curation and Culture at the London College of Fashion. He is also an expert in underwear!
