Siberia: The challenge of delivering HIV services

With the dark cloud of anti-gay propaganda laws hanging over them, anyone speaking of LGBT issues or community in Russia is at risk of verbal abuse or violent attack. But what if you are delivering HIV and sexual health services to at-risk communities in Siberia?

  • How do you connect with at risk communities that are surviving under the radar?
  • What sort of government support can you hope for?
  • How do you physically deliver services to an area nearly twice the size of Australia?

To unpack the complexities of LGBTIQ life in Siberia, we spoke with Anastasia from SIBALT – the Center for Health and Social Support in Siberia.
