SWAZILAND – GAY VISIBILITY GROWS

Africa and the Middle East, News & Politics

Africa has a reputation for being anti-gay…it’s just the level of persecution that varies. But is this stereotype still valid.  Tonight we venture to one of the countries showing increasing hints of acceptance – but how far will it go?  Tonight we’re off to Swaziland.

  • How ‘out’ can someone be in Swazi society?
  • Is it possible to form working relationships with Churches in Swaziland?
  • What is being done to combat HIV and how effective is it?

For an African insight, we spoke with Melusi Simelane from The Rock of Hope (www.therockofhopesd.com) – supporting and celebrating the LGBT community in Swaziland.
