From the day we are born, we strive to forge our own identity. The parts of our life that make us both fit in and stand out. But the process is a whole lot more complicated if you are from mixed cultures. And it’s even more confusing and confronting when sexuality plays a part.

Elias Jahshan is Lebanese, Palestinian and gay. In a culture where ‘coming out’ is a foreign concept, he has shared his journey in a new book titled Arab, Australian, Other: Stories On Race And Identity.
