Australia: Taking the Freeze off Women in Leadership

The LeadershipAcross the world, the number of female leaders at the top of their industry, is dwarfed in comparison to male leaders. This trend is even more acute in the STEM arena – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. But how do you drive change? One innovative solution was to select a group of female future leaders working in science and send them off on a ship…to Antarctica.

This leadership experiment was also filmed. All the fears, hopes and raw emotion of the participants and the organisers has been captured in the upcoming documentary called – The Leadership. One participant who took part in this life changing experience is population health and immunity researcher Dr Sarah Charnaud. Melbourne resident – and a former World Wide Wave panelist – Sarah is currently in Switzerland and joined us to share her experience.
