AIDS 2022 Conference and the Arrival of Monkeypox in Australia

The largest HIV and AIDS Conference in the world was held in the past few weeks in Montreal, Canada. While Covid-19 has dominated the media and our mindsets, there were 1.5 million new HIV infections each year. The conference brings together the brightest scientists, researchers and doctors to continue to fight this global epidemic.

And just as HIV fights for some coverage against Covid-19, another attack on our community emerges in the form of monkeypox or MPX. To discuss the highlights from the AIDS 2022 conference and the arrival of MPX in Australia, we are joined tonight by Heath Paynter, Deputy CEO of AFAO – the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations.
