How often have you been asked – ‘Where were you in 19…?” This week we are going to visit the year 1977. To stir your imagination here are some things that happened in 1977 that you might remember.

• World Trade Centre was completed
• World’s first all-in-one computer was demonstrated (Commodore PET)
• Jimmy Carter becomes USA’s 39th President
• Led Zeppelin sets new attendance record for an inside venue (76,229) at Pontiac Silverdome in the USA.
• Elvis Presley dies
• A new political force in Australia (the Australian Democrats) is formed.
• Release of movie ‘Star Wars’ in Australia which brought sci-fi to the masses.

There were some big name performers in 1977 such as the beginning of the ABBA phenomenon; popular bands 10CC and Little River Band and a host of other great songs and singers. Check the Playlist for some of your favourites.
