Been There Done That

27 May 2015

Towels, Hitchhikers, Superman, Great icons, Native Title, Authors

Gay, History, Icons, Lesbian

We celebrate anniversaries and birthdays which happen this week. Today is Towel Day – and if you are a fan of Douglas Adams and the Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy you will understand; if not you can listen and learn.

We remember that actor Christopher Reeve, who played Superman, was cruelly paralysed after a horse-fall; we celebrate [Sir] Ian McKellan as a great positive gay icon, and Bishop Gene Robinson who both have birthdays this week.

This week we commemorate National Reconciliation Week; the 1967 Referendum and the 1992 Mabo Native Title determination. Allan Hollinghurst [gay], Christopher Marlowe [gay] and Kylie [gay icon] are all remembered this week as well. Plus some trivia and mirth.
