This week we reflect upon the machinations of governments – how they generally move slowly. Events this week include Independence Day USA breaking with Britain; the anniversary of passing a Bill outlawing racial discrimination in USA, & most topical Bill for Marriage Equality.

Locally, we comment on last Friday’s March against closure of Aboriginal Settlements, Victoria separates from NSW, Qld abolishes the death penalty in 1922 [Victoria much later]; and Hong Kong reverts to Chinese administration.

We remember Terrence Higgins – one of the early deaths 4/7/1982 attributed in UK to AIDS, and the Trust subsequently set up to raise funds for research and direct services in the age of HIV. Who took the bite out of Apple, and what happened to the marriage of inconvenience between Apple and IBM
