“I think every parent becomes an automatic advocate, only because we are in that point of history and time where our society isn’t quite ready for trans children … so you automatically become an advocate to your immediate family, your wider family, your school, community, doctor … to everybody” Jo Hirst

In this weeks episode we are joined by Jo Hirst, the author of children’s picture book The Gender Fairy.

This busy mum and advocate for transgender and gender diverse children, talks to us about some of her latest advocacy work to ensure all our kids are treated with dignity, love and respect.

The team also look at the importance of LGBTQI representation in the media with series Modern Family announcing it will feature TV’s first transgender child in a groundbreaking show.
