One of JOY’s weekend newsreaders, Aleks Jakovljevic, joined us to share 8 songs and the queerest possession he has, which he would take to the Queer Island.

Aleks talks about his strong connection to lyrics in the songs he heard at different times in his life; sometimes while struggling with uncertainty and conflict but also during time of hopefulness and happiness.

Aleks also takes a few songs to the island that reflect how he tries to live his life; positive and full of compassion.

 

Queer Island Discs is a bit like Desert Island Discs, except the island isn’t deserted; it’s full with an LGBTI+ population!
