Sex and Politics

News & Politics, Society & Culture

Our former EP Ben Rylan was welcomed home like the prodigal son, to join Macca as our co host this week. Independent MP for Sydney Alex Greenwich celebrated the recognition of overseas same sex marriages in NSW, before hopeful Senate candidate Fiona Patten dropped in to talk sex and politics – the policies of the Sex Party for the coming Victorian Election. The geeks went gaga when the Rosetta spacecraft dropped the Philae probe on to a moving comet and astrophysicist Dr Alan Duffy was on hand to talk about the excitement among star gazers.

Each year, JOY rewards one of our own with a broadcasting excellence award and we were thrilled to have Paul Anthony in the studio to share his feelings about winning this years award. Tim Harcourt previewed the G20 for us and his experience meeting Vladmir Putin and Mary Dalmau from Readers Feast brought some great summer reading to preview. Journalist Tracey Spicer wrapped up the program with a discussion about Feminism and the Foreign Minister – including the rather public stoush they had on Twitter.
